Yesterday a man protecting his female friends was stabbed in the back at Cronulla, and a blond woman at Maroubra was hit in the face with a baseball bat. About fifty cars at Maroubra were destroyed, and during more rampaging at Brighton, the Australian flag was removed from the Returned Soldiers' Building - and burnt. So far, the non-muslim community hasn't retaliated, and are letting the police handle things.

We have to reach deep within ourselves to get through what's going on.

It's easy enough to take the higher moral ground, to forgive and let this violence just wash over us. But undoubtedly some of the attackers wouldn't respond to it, due to the stricture of their dogma. So what then the solution?

I'd also point out that everyone in Sydney has seen this coming for years. I just don't think we expected it so soon. The hooligansim and thuggery had kept accelerating and the authorities did nothing because of pressure to lay off minorities, especially Muslims.

Update: The BBC reporting is incomprehensibly selective. Well, incomprehensible if you don't realise they're pushing a PC agenda. In this report, they mention the race of the white rioters on Sunday, but not of those involved in the past two nights. I left this comment, I don't know if they'll print it.

Why does your article mention the race of the rioters on Sunday (white) but not of those in the subsequent two nights of rampages, which have been solely by Middle Eastern males?

Your article is misleading as it infers only the whites are rioting, when in truth almost all of the violence, injuries and damage have been caused by Muslim Arabs.

The same thing happened last night with the ABC's reporting of the second night's violence. Both in this article and this one the white rioters from Sunday are singled out by race, but not the 'Middle Eastern' ones from the past two nights.

This transcript from last night's ABC 7.30 Report shows some of the PC rationale for censoring the news,

"Part of the discussion has been the role that the media's played in perhaps whipping up hatreds or resentments within the community."

I think it would be more helpful if they'd address the proposition that covering up anti-social behaviour by minorities, as has been happening for years, in fact breeds more of it. Entire generations of ratbags, regardless of background, haven't been shown that their behaviour won't be tolerated. It's simply never talked about unless the culprits are white, which gives thugs from minorities the perception they have to ' retaliate'. That statistically it seems they're usually the instigators is never raised. Also, the courts and police go easy on them, having been constantly harangued by 'social justice advocates' with friends in the media.

And so we've arrived at where we are today. Christmas 2005.
